Newsletter for 19/11/15

People of Earth,

It feels somewhat strange to begin like this, but, it would be remiss not to touch on it, since we last spoke there have been a series of devestating attacks in Paris and Beruit

Such news is always difficult to process and I urge you to take some time out of your day to let Rotaractors in France and Beruit that we're thinking of them.

It's been making the rounds at the moment, but, I do think the quote of Martin Luther King Jr is particularly apt: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

For those looking to do something, I am personally thinking of getting involved in a Rotary Action Group on Peace. You're more than welcome to join me.

In lighter more club related matters we have been hard at work coming up with new T-shirt designs to be with us for the new year. You can vote on what one you want to wear in our Facebook group

Final Thoughts:

Be wonderful to eachother friends and keep on being beacons of hope.

Fun fact: all steel produced after the 1950s is contaminated with radionuclides and can't be used in certain types of nuclear sensative equiptment e.g. Geiger counters. Steel produced before this time is called 'low-background steel', which is often gathered from Sunken warships. (source).
Well that's it from me
